Creative Direction for Project Atigi, a Canada Goose initiative.
Project Atigi celebrates the legacy, craftsmanship and traditions of Inuit design. Canada Goose was born in the North and for generations, have been inspired by its people, communities and landscapes.
When translated into English, the Inuktitut word “atigi” means “parka”. In a literal sense, that’s the story behind this initiative: we’ve partnered with Inuit designers to make one-of-a-kind parka collections, year after year.
In 2022, we partnered with renowned Inuk fashion designer Victoria Kakuktinniq to create a limited-edition capsule collection of three styles in rich colours that evoke the Northern Lights. Each style is finished with a bespoke tattoo trim that reflects Victoria’s strength, story, and inspiration: The design represents key milestones in her life and is a tribute to her family.
For this campaign, we travelled to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut to capture Victoria in her home and studio, showcasing an intimate view of the life, work and traditions of the Inuit community.
